"Amy Lee/Artist Statement"

This is supposedly my artist statement about Photography. Throughout my work in editing and taking photos, of random things that I tend to see out of nowhere, I think that everything in this world called earth is interesting. I am really not much of a writer so writing this piece of artist statement may be kind of hard. But then in explaining my work of art/photography will be fine.

Ms. Canelake my photography art teacher seems to have given the class a lot of details and tips on editing photos and taking photos. So you can say I have learned a lot by taking this class.

Throughout my work of photography, I’ve come to find a lot of neat and very exciting things in this world, that sometimes appear to be usual. Most of my photos that I have taken are basically taken in Minnesota, which I’m very much fond of the unique things that this state has. I’ve never been out of state, so you can say that I haven’t explored yet out of this planet earth.

In my photography class, where we learned to edit photos in Ms. Canelake’s class we’ve been exploring the editing software of Adobe Photoshop, and so far, I tend to enjoy using the editing software so far. Through my work I’ve used a lot of tools so far, such as using sponge tools, to using a paint bucket, to using a gradient effect and filtering photos. Another thing that I have used so far throughout my editing work is desaturating photos into black and white photos.

What I like to do most by editing my photos, are changing the contrast and colors of my photos, I think that’s what I most find more appealing throughout all my photos. I love colors, so I think that’s something that I find really genuine. I think one of a well-known photographer that makes me inspired is probably Joel Meyerowitz who is a street photographer who tends to take pictures that deals a lot with colors, and I think that’s really cool.

So far, throughout all my photography experiences, I am still a rookie. But then I think I will soon grow and learn to be more of a better photographer then now. All my work is not yet the best, but then I am learning, and I will learn to grow, I am still a seed, yet not planted. But I will grow to be a better photographer. This is my artist statement for Ms. Canelake.
